Apple TV 4K 2022 Comes With HDR10+ And Improved Performance

Both the “Wi-Fi” and the “Wi-Fi + Ethernet” versions of the new Apple TV 4K rely on the Apple A15 Bionic chip, which is known from the iPhone 13 (Pro) and the iPhone 14, among others. In addition, wireless LAN 6 (802.11ax) and Bluetooth 5.0 are used. The set-top boxes also have HDMI 2.1, the output of which is limited to a 4K HDR resolution at a maximum of 60 FPS and (e)ARC in the small print.

The increased performance of the Apple TV 4K 2022 should be of interest to those who use the device as a games console. Above all, owners of Samsung televisions can look forward to it. In addition to Dolby Vision, the new set-top box now also supports HDR10+, the South Koreans’ “High Dynamic Range” standard. In terms of audio playback, support continues to be Dolby Atmos and Dolby Digital 7.1 / 5.1.

Fewer cables, USB-C connection
