Apple Watch Series 8 Will Have Thermometer To Check Fever

Apple is currently working on another Smartwatch generation that could be released in the fall. According to leaked information, both variants of the wearable are equipped with a temperature sensor that allows the device to detect a fever and warn the user.

The information comes from Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, who has some contacts with Apple employees and suppliers. In the most recent edition of Power On Newsletters (through Macrumors) he reports that the Apple Watch Series 8 is expected to see the light of day with a sensor to measure body temperature. The smartwatch is not supposed to be able to display an exact reading with this, but the wearable could warn the user if the temperature is higher than normal.

Whether the iPhone manufacturer will actually equip the Apple Watch Series 8 with a temperature sensor remains to be seen. It’s conceivable that the company might reconsider the feature and only integrate the feature into the wearable in connection with a next-generation one. In addition to the clinical thermometer, the new Apple Watch should have relatively few innovations. Mark Gurman assumes that the upcoming models will use the same performance as Series 6 and Series 7.

No performance and design upgrades planned

A performance upgrade is therefore likely to be built into the range only with the future models launching next year. The design should also be largely taken over from the predecessor. However, the more expensive versions of the Series 8 should be delivered with an improved display. At the moment, the Watch Series 8 is believed to be introduced at an Apple event in the fall. However, there is no exact date at the moment.
