Asus Announces Zenbook Pro Duo With Dual Screen At CES 2021

As the performance flagship, Asus will be sending a new version of its ZenBook Pro Duo into the race over the next few weeks, the name of which refers to the ScreenPad Plus, which has been known for some time. In addition to the 15-inch OLED display with 4K UHD resolution, a second 4K touchscreen (14 inches) is used above the keyboard. What is new is that this year the screen extension will automatically be raised to an angle of 9.5 degrees as soon as the user opens the notebook. On the one hand, this should improve readability and, on the other hand, it should support the cooling of the components.

Improved ScreenPad software and solid OLED quality

A new ScreenXpert 2 software ensures the display of personalized functions and workflows under Windows 10, which can be controlled via the ScreenPad Plus. Above all, Asus names shortcuts for creative apps such as Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro and After Effects. In conjunction with an input pen, the second display can also be used as a graphics tablet. However, the focus continues to be on the 15-inch main screen with a screen-to-body ratio of 93 percent, VESA DisplayHDR 500 certification, extended DCI-P3 colour space and colour accuracy validated by Pantone.

10th generation Intel CPUs, a large battery and a hefty price tag

The Asus ZenBook Pro Duo 15 OLED is powered by slightly outdated Comet Lake H processors in the form of the Intel Core i7-10870H or Core i9-10980HK. The graphics card, however, has been refreshed. Asus relies on the new Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070

Furthermore, on the datasheet WiFi 6 (WLAN-ax), up to 1 TB PCIe SSDs and up to 32 GB DDR4 memory can be found. The connections include two Thunderbolt 3 ports, USB-A 3.1 Gen 2, HDMI 2.1 and a classic jack connection. Including the 92 Wh battery, the laptop weighs just under 2.4 kg. The Asus ZenBook Pro Duo 15 OLED is expected to be sold in the course of the first quarter of 2021 at high prices starting at 3999 euros.
