Asus Zenfone 12 Ultra: Specs, Features, and Everything We Know So Far

2025 has kicked off strong in the smartphone world, with Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra stealing the early spotlight. Now, it’s Asus’s turn to shine. The company is gearing up to launch its next flagship, the Zenfone 12 Ultra, on February 6, 2025. Thanks to a recent leak, we’ve gotten an early peek at its specs and design — and there’s plenty to get excited about.

The leak, courtesy of reliable tipster Roland Quandt (via WinFuture.de), reveals that the Zenfone 12 Ultra will be a “slightly stripped-down version” of the Asus ROG Phone 9 Pro, following a similar pattern to last year’s Zenfone 11 Ultra.

Display and Performance

Expect a 6.78-inch display featuring a 2400×1080 resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate (capable of hitting 144Hz for gaming). Under the hood, it’ll pack Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage.

Camera System

On the rear, the Zenfone 12 Ultra will include a 50MP Sony Lytia 700 sensor with “gimbal” Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) for sharper photos and videos. It’s joined by a 13MP ultra-wide lens with a 120-degree field of view, a 32MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and a 32MP selfie camera up front.

Battery, Software, and Rare Headphone Jack

Powering the Zenfone 12 Ultra will be a 5,500mAh battery, slightly smaller than the ROG Phone 9 Pro’s 5,800mAh capacity. It supports 65W fast wired charging and 15W wireless charging, making it perfect for heavy users.

Out of the box, the phone will run Android 15, packed with new AI features for photo and video enhancements. But perhaps the most surprising feature? The Zenfone 12 Ultra will include a 3.5mm headphone jack — a rarity in today’s flagship smartphones.

Design

Leaked images suggest the Zenfone 12 Ultra will look similar to the ROG Phone 9 Pro but with a smaller camera module and no mini-LED matrix on the back. It’s a sleek and clean design that still feels premium.

Launch Date

With the official launch just a few days away, we won’t have to wait long for pricing and availability details. Stay tuned for the full reveal of the Asus Zenfone 12 Ultra on February 6, 2025!
