AT&T is finally all set to launch Low Band 5G Network in 10 US cities today, the company starts to sell $1300 Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus 5G to connect with the 5G network in the coverage areas.
When the company announced the launch of 5G network last month, it promised its 5G network would be launched in 5 cities however, the company managed to extend it to 5 more cities and making it 10 including; Birmingham, AL; Indianapolis, IN; Los Angeles, CA; Milwaukee, WI; Pittsburgh, PA; Providence, RI; Rochester, NY; San Diego, CA; San Francisco, CA; and San Jose, CA.

AT&T has also categorized the plans with Unlimited Extra and Unlimited Elite ($75 or $85 per month for a single line). However, it will be offered at no extra charge for those customers. The 5G data will count towards unlimited plans with caps 50GB and 100GB of total data usage, however, these limits could be exceeded fast with 5G speeds.
AT&T has actually 3 different brands of 5G:
5GE—superficial 5G (basically an upgraded version of LTE)
5G—This is actual 5G which uses low-band 850MHz spectrum technology which has a broader range but slower speeds than mmWave (The network is also known as Sub-6 which is similar to T-Mobile’s recently launched 600MHz network).
5G Plus—This is mmWave 5G based on high-band radio frequencies. This 5G network is the shortest range and fastest 5G network that the company launched last year for selected businesses and developers. Today, the company is launching the middle range of 5G networks with low-band 5G connectivity across the 10 cities.
AT&T also said that these 10 cities are just the beginning of expansion the company has plans to bring low-band 5G connectivity to other cities including Boston, MA; Bridgeport, CT; Buffalo, NY; Las Vegas, NV; Louisville, KY; and New York City, the company plans to roll out in 2020.
