Beware, WhatsApp Gold Virus is Back

private reply

Beware readers as the WhatsApp Gold Virus is circulating again. It is a hoax message that surfaced back in 2016. It encouraged WhatsApp users to download a fake update claiming to offer more updates and features. But it is a scam.

Previously on this issue WhatsApp issued a statement that “Plus have no relationship with WhatsApp and the company does not support WhatsApp Plus.”

A message was designed by hackers to trick the users. The message had a link that basically downloaded a virus, though claiming to download WhatsApp Gold.

Reportedly the latest message appearing on the phones of WhatsApp users states,  “If you know anyone using WhatsApp you could pass on this. An IT colleague has advised that a video came out from WhatsApp called Martinelli, so, do not open it, it hacks your phone and nothing will fix it. Spread the word.”

So now if you are receiving a message about a Video, just don’t open it. It is being used to hack your phones so beware. If such a message appears, it is important you ignore and delete it. Do not open it.
