Canon’s PowerShoot SX740 HS aims to capture 4K videos

With stellar cameras on cell phone models like Huawei’s P20 Pro, the end appears to be near for simple to use cameras. Canon hasn’t abandoned the class yet however, as it’s simply disclosed the smaller PowerShoot SX740 HS, a spiffed-up form of a year ago’s SX730. The new model is a dead ringer for the last one, and has a similar 24-960mm proportionate (40x) focal point, 20.3-megapixel sensor and pop up flipable back screen that rotates a 180 degree.

Nonetheless, with a new Digic 8 processor, it can shoot photographs at a speedier 7.4 fps, and video at 4K 30 fps rather than only 1080p.

“We remain committed to incorporating the latest technologies and innovations into Canon products that help meet the needs of our customers,” said Kazuto Ogawa, president and COO, Canon U.S.A., Inc. “As we continue to grow the popular PowerShot SX-series, we are excited to offer more imaging solutions that encourage visual storytelling.”

As previously, you can charge it over USB and naturally exchange photographs to your cell phone through WiFi or Bluetooth tech making sharing moments with the world easier than ever. It additionally has a “feature assistant” that encourages you to select the best shooting mode, alongside double detecting optical image stabilization. The PowerShoot SX740HS touches base on the US in August 2018 (in silver or dark) for $399.
