Capcom announces open beta testing

Good news for all Monster Hunter fans: Although the next part of the series won’t be released until next year, it will soon be possible to try it out in detail as part of an open beta phase. There is also a new trailer with many previously unpublished game scenes.

Monster hunting for everyone

The starting signal for the open beta test is given according to the official announcement on November 1st, 2024 at 4:00 a.m. (CET), this will then last until November 4th at 3:59 a.m. The trial version will be playable on PC (Steam) as well as on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S throughout the entire period, even without a PlayStation Plus or Game Pass Core/Ultimate subscription.

However, PlayStation Plus members can set off on the monster hunt earlier and therefore longer overall, namely from October 29th (4:00 a.m.) to October 31st (3:59 a.m.) in Early Access.

The open beta will contain two playable quests: In the opening scene including the Chatacabra hunt, tutorials explain, among other things, the use of the different weapons, while in the Doshaguma hunt the alpha animal of the pack must be defeated. Two different types of weapons can be used.

Crossplay and character editor

Anyone who needs help can summon additional players or NPC helpers using a light signal in both quests and form a party with a total of four participants. In multiplayer, the beta will also support crossplay between all three platforms.

The trial version also offers access to the full character editor. Custom hunters and Palico companions can later be transferred to the full version when it releases on February 28, 2025. Participants in the test phase will also receive a digital item pack and a Felynen teddy bear for the game.
