At the CES in Las Vegas, Dell surprised gaming fans with an extremely thin gaming notebook. We’ll tell you what the Alienware x14 can do.
The Alienware x14 is the manufacturer’s thinnest gaming notebook to date.
- Innovations for electronic entertainment are showcased each year at CES in Las Vegas.
- Dell did not mess up this year either.
- In addition to a few other products, the super thin Alienware x14 was also presented.
Dell produces some of the most powerful gaming laptops on the market under the name Alienware. The brand is extremely popular with fans and enables top-level mobile gaming. At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, the manufacturer has now presented several new models and once again expanded its own portfolio considerably. A highlight here is the very thin Alienware x14 notebook. To be clear, the x14 isn’t Alienware’s top-performing product. The focus here is on the thin and compact design to make mobile gaming as easy as possible. Nevertheless, the equipment of the notebook is anything but bad. The matt display is 14 inches and offers a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels with a refresh rate of 144 Hertz. Furthermore, the DCI-P3 color space is fully displayed and G-Sync is also supported.
Advanced Optimus has also been integrated to ensure optimal battery performance. As a result, the panel is controlled directly by the Nvidia GPU when gaming, while in all other scenarios it is energy-efficient by the integrated Intel GPU. The modes can now even be changed without an annoying restart. The notebook’s graphics card is not the best on the market, but there is a lot that can be done with the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060. Current top games and the games of the coming years should not be a problem. In terms of performance, Dell has opted for the new Intel processors of the 12th Core i generation, in which only the Core i7-12700H and Core i7-12900H are used.
These are supported by up to 32 gigabytes of LPDDR5 memory and a maximum of 2 terabytes of SSD storage space, which guarantees a good deal of performance. The interfaces include three USB-C ports (two of them with Thunderbolt 4), a USB-A socket, an analog audio output, an HDMI output, and a microSD card reader. The battery holds a whopping 80 Wh, which is why the weight, despite the slim design, is at least 1.8 kilograms. How much the notebook will cost in the end is not yet known. The same applies to the different equipment variants and the release date.
