Chat filters are being tested by WhatsApp that will provide better navigation experience

It’s been a while since WhatsApp has been constantly working on its platform, and it feels like it never stops adding new and improved features to the platform. It’s not been long since we got the feature of sticker suggestions on the platform, and we are already holding on to what’s next. With the latest news, WhatsApp is testing a chat list filter feature that will allow users to find conversations immediately.

As per the feature shared through a screenshot via WABetaInfo, the latest version 2.23.14.17 displays three filters above the chat list. These features will help you jump right into your unread messages, locating personal chats as well as leading to business conversations. This feature will save you time scrolling through chats, and having these filter buttons will make the app easier to use.

However, as of right now, it only seems to be being developed for private one-on-one conversations. Given that a sizable portion of users use WhatsApp for group conversations, a dedicated group chat filter might also be quite helpful. Plans to extend filters to groups, however, are still questionable at this time.
