Chrome refreshed logo appeared after 8 years

The Google Chrome browser is by far the most popular program of its kind and its logo is well known. But that is now changing for the first time in years. However, you have to look pretty closely if you want to see the changes. The Chrome logo was last changed in 2014, even then the changes were minimal.

Since from the 2011 to 2014 version the optics were primarily flattened, by reducing the shadows, the yellow, green and red areas no longer seemed bent – this curvature goes back to 2008 and the first 3D-like Chrome -Logo back.

Flat, Flat, Chrome

Now they even go a step further, because the logo presented now is even flatter than the previous one. if The verge reported with reference to the Google designer Elvin Hu, you still have to look very closely to see the changes. Not only does Hu show the evolution of the logo on Twitter, but he also describes the changes from the latter to the new version: “We have simplified the main symbol of the brand by removing the shadows, refining the proportions and brightening up the colors, to align with Google’s more modern branding,” Hu writes.

The designer goes on to explain that certain shades of green and red juxtaposed created an “awkward color vibe”: “So we added a very subtle gradient to the main icon to soften that and make the icon more accessible.” Finally, the designer writes that the versions on individual operating systems differ slightly from each other, which affects Windows, Chrome OS, macOS, and mobile editions. However, the new logos will not be distributed all at once but will be released gradually over the coming months.
