Given the release of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080, content creators are left with ambiguity as to whether invest in the powerful graphics card or not.
As of now, various benchmark tests have been performed by Puget Systems. These tests were aimed at calculating the score concerning the GPU performance. It was tested for various content creation software. The targeted software was After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, and Adobe Premiere Pro.
While reviewing the performance, the latest offerings from Nvidia were tested against the current RTX 3000 series. Alongside GeForce RTX 2080 Ti and AMD Radeon RX 6900XT were also included.
As per Puget Systems, the GPU was sued across four main areas. these areas are as follows:
On a whole, a 10% boost in performance compared to RTX 3080 Ti was observed. While the results were roughly similar for the RTX 3090 Ti. Besides this, CPU tasks were also considered.
Overall, it was found to offer a 10% performance boost compared to the RTX 3080 Ti, while remaining roughly the same as the RTX 3090 Ti. However, this also took into account CPU-based tasks, as well. On strictly graphics-driven tasks, like OpenFX, DaVinci Resolve performed 18% faster against the 3080 Ti. Given this test parameter, the results were on par with the 3090 Ti.
Concerning the Premiere Pro, the software was just 5% faster than its forerunner. It was almost around 7% faster than the RTX 3080 Ti given the GPU-accelerated effects. It was suggested by the testing team that by using GPU-led plugins for noise reduction and others, users may experience even extra performance gains.
Testing for the Adobe VFX software, similar benchmark scores were showcased across Nvidia’s RTX 30 and RTX 40 series. However, the After Effects was bottlenecked by the CPU. Besides this various other tests were also performed.
As of now, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 is a popular user choice. Since it is very hard to find in-store.
