Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.3 Adds Self-Driving Cars, New Vehicles & FSR 4

With update 2.3, Cyberpunk 2077 receives a vehicle upgrade: the new car driven function, self-driving taxis and four new vehicles are now available. The technology was also screwed – FSR 4, FSR 3.1, Xess 2.0 and HDR10+ are now at the start.

New driving experience in Night City

CD Projekt Red has published the Update 2.3 for Cyberpunk 2077. The update mainly focuses on revising the driving experience in Night City and brings several new functions to make the game more immersive. The focus is on the introduction of Autrive, a function that enables players to automatically let their vehicles drive to a marked goal. To activate them, players only have to mark one goal on the map and then hold the corresponding button down – h on PC, left stick on consoles.

The prerequisite is that the vehicle is located on a street. If players have not set a goal, Autrive takes you on a relaxed jaunt through the streets of Night City. The function is automatically deactivated when the player gets into a fight or the vehicle is badly damaged. In addition, players can activate a film camera during the car driven trip that offers cinematic perspectives on the city.

If you want to be completely chauffeured, you can also use your taxi service after completing the delamain native mission. A call is sufficient, and there is already a self -driving taxi that brings the player to the desired goal – of course for a reasonable fee in Eurodollar (Eddies), the fictional currency of the cyberpunk universe.

Four new vehicles and crystal coat

The update continues to bring four new vehicles into play: three cars and one motorcycle. It is particularly worth mentioning the Yaiba Semimaru, which comes from the Comic Cyberpunk 2077: Kickdown and thus establishes a direct connection to the extended cyberpunk universe. In order to unlock most of these vehicles, players have to complete some new quests that are introduced with the update.

The crystal coat system already introduced in Update 2.2 has also been expanded. Rayfield’s technology is now also available for vehicles from partner brands and for the first time for motorcycles. It enables the painting of vehicles to change dynamically. The notorious Cosmetic_troll has also created a chopped version of the technology for cheaper vehicles. However, not all models support, in particular highly modified nomad vehicles and mission-relevant vehicles, remain excluded.

Photo mode with 27 new NPCs

The photo mode also receives an extensive revision with Update 2.3. Players can now spawn 27 new NPCs in the photo mode, including Rita Wheeler, the Cassel twins, various fixers, dum dum, the iguana, Brendan and other well-known characters from the game. The expansion enables players to create more complex scenes and photograph their favorite characters in different situations.

Alternative outfits can also be selected for NPCs, and players can switch between VS stored cloakroom outfits. Further improvements include new adaptation options for the camera, improved lighting options, new stickers and frames as well as the possibility of changing weather and time of day in photo mode.

Technical innovations and Mac premiere

With Update 2.3, CD Project Red also introduces technical improvements. The variable refresh rate (VRR) for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | s is supported on consoles. PC players receive support for AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 4 (FSR 4), FSR 3.1 Frame Generation, Intel Xess 2.0 and HDR10+ Gaming. As is well known, the technologies should improve image quality and at the same time optimize performance. The update also marks the premiere of Cyberpunk 2077 on MacOS.

The MAC version will run exclusively on devices with Apple-Silicon chips and at least 16 GB RAM. Players who already have the game on Steam, Gog or in the Epic Games Store can play it on their compatible Mac devices without additional costs. While PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S players are already receiving the Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.3, owners of the Nintendo Switch 2 version have to wait a little longer. CD Projekt Red has announced that the update will also be released for this platform at a later date, but without calling a specific date.
