EA presents new Star Wars game in XCOM style

Electronic Arts, Bit Reactor and Respawn Entertainment have jointly unveiled a new round-based strategy game in the Star Wars universe: In addition to playful depth and comprehensive adaptation options, Zero Company wants to inspire the fans with a fresh view of the clone wars.

Covered missions during the clone wars

The clone wars have already been taken up several times in films, series and video games, but Star Wars Zero Company now wants to show the conflict from a completely new perspective. Because the focus here is not on the actual fights, but an invisible war, as the preview explains.

Players slip into the role of the former Republican officer Hawks, who, however, fell out of favor and has been leading the title -giving Zero Company, the “Null”. The elite force is used for the crucial missions beyond the large battlefields and must also fight a previously unknown threat, which puts the entire galaxy in danger.

In the announcement trailer, there is already the first gameplay from an early version of the game, which is reminiscent of the genre primus XCOM-not by accident, because at least there are former XCOM developers at the responsible studio Bit Reactor. In the video there are various locations, a ring -shaped action menu and several characters.

Familiar, new and own heroes

Players can put together their own team themselves and choose from a ranks of new and well -known figures with individual skills – or design them from scratch. It can then be determined, voice and class.

If Squad members are more often sent to missions together, this can improve their bond and trigger special synergy effects. At least in higher levels of difficulty, Permadeath can mean that from important team members. Star Wars Zero Company should be released in 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, there is no precise date so far.
