Edge 117 Patches 14 Vulnerabilities And Adds New Features

The latest version of the Edge browser brings patches against additional security vulnerabilities and new functions. Since vulnerabilities are being closed, version 117 should be installed as quickly as possible. The update is available for Windows, MacOS, and Linux.

The update raises the version number in the stable channel to 117.0.2045.31. A total of 14 security holes were fixed. A complete list can be found on the Redmond company’s official website.

At the same time, Microsoft also updated the Edge browser for Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and Windows Server 2012 R2 with Extended Support. Version number 109.0.1518.140 closes a vulnerability that is already being exploited in the wild.

Fixing vulnerabilities is not the only advantage of Edge 117. Business users in particular can benefit from some innovations. Administrators can now control the availability of the Edge for Business banner using a policy. Additionally, synced and subsequently deleted favorites can now be restored for up to 14 days. When filling out forms, the entries can now be completed automatically.

Microsoft Removes Some Of The Features

In addition to the added functions, Microsoft has removed some features with the update. This is intended to improve user-friendliness as rarely used options do not need to be listed in the menus. After installing the update, Math Solver, Picture Dictionary, Quotes, Grammar Tools, and Kids Mode will no longer be available.
