The South Korean conglomerate is all set to introduce the Exynos 2400 later in 2023. It is anticipated that the company will unveil the next flagship Exynos 2400 in Q4 2023. Previously, the Exynos 2200 was introduced by Samsung in early 2022. It was featured in the Galaxy S22 series in some markets.
Well, we are hearing about the Exynos 2400 and not the Exynos 2300. What happened to it? Why has the company skipped the Exynos 2300?
The possible reason might be that the company’s mobile division decided not to use the Exynos processor in the Galaxy S23 series. The flagship S23 series is fueled by an overclocked version of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. The tipster Tech_Reve took on Twitter and stated that FoWLP (fan-out wafer-level packaging) packaging technology will be utilized in Exynos 2400. Such technology eliminates the requirement of a printed circuit board (PCB) in a chip setup. It implies direct mounting on silicon wafers. As a result, thin, high-performing, power-efficient semiconductors are produced. It helps to increase the battery life as well as the performance of the device.
The Exynos 2400 might be a deca-core chipset
Well, this is the first time that we have come across such rumors about the Exynos 2400. Previously, some rumors suggested that the Exynos 2400 could be a deca-core chipset. It could be accompanied by one ARM Cortex-X4 prime core and two Cortex-A720 high-frequency mid-cores. Additionally, it could feature three Cortex-A720 low-frequency mid-cores and four Cortex-A520 efficiency cores. No information about the CPU speeds and remaining setup is available. Recently, Samsung collaborated with AMD. So we can expect an AMD-powered GPU in the Exynos 2400.
But up until now, every rumor has pointed to a late 2023 release date for the new Exynos processor. That is just before the release of the Galaxy S24. There is a minimal prospect of Samsung using the Exynos 2400 in its next-generation flagship devices. Although some rumors suggest so. The devices will probably feature a Snapdragon chip. It should once more acquire an overclocked version of the Qualcomm processor i.e., (Snapdragon 8 Gen 3). Since a multi-year deal has already been struck by the two companies.
Besides all this, it is our request to consider all this information with caution as things have the chance to change with time.
