Exynos 2400 specs unveiled via a trusted source

Samsung has introduced the new flagship smartphone series i.e., Galaxy S 23 with an exclusive Qualcomm chipset. Users are getting access to a smartphone powered by a Snapdragon chipset instead of an Exynos. It is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset that is used in the Galaxy S23 series. On top of that, the version is an overclocked version that offers improved performance for the device.

Besides all this, the tech company Samsung still has the desire to manufacture its own Exynos SoCs for high-end smartphones. Given this perspective, some information is coming from a trusted source.

The information sheds some light on the alleged CPU core of the next-gen Samsung mobile chipset, apparently named Exynos 2400. The information comes from Ice Universe. It was shared on Weibo, a Chinese social media platform. If this information is correct, the Exynos 2400 chipset will feature

  • one Cortex-X4 core
  • two Cortex A720 high-frequency cores
  • three Cortex-A720 low-frequency cores
  • an additional four Cortex-A520 cores for a total of 10 CPU cores

So, it can be assumed that the Exynos 2400 is under development. Based on this information, it can’t be considered that the company will utilize the chipset in its next flagship series. The possibility of Samsung partnering with Qualcomm for Galaxy flagship chipsets can’t be overlooked. Perhaps, the tech company will continue to work on Exynos 2400 SoC for consumers based in China, consisting of Xiaomi, Vivo, Realme, and others.

When it comes to the official release of Exynos 2400, we can anticipate it to make its appearance by the end of this year or perhaps next year. If we go by the name of the chipset, then it suggests that since the name Exynos 2300 has been skipped, the Exynos 2400 might be introduced in 2024.

Based on the shipments, the report by Counterpoint Research suggests that Samsung owned a market share of 7% in Q3 2022 in the global chipset for smartphones. It is significantly better in contrast to the 5% recorded in Q3 2021. Besides this, the company was outclassed by its competitors like UNISOC, Apple, Qualcomm, and MediaTek.
