Facebook Is Experimenting With Tinder-Like Dating Feature

Tinder is a popular dating app that millions of people of use to find their Mr or Miss Right. Now Facebook is testing a similar feature like Tinder. Users can use messenger to send requests to their friends and it they accept, a connection will be made between the two. The point of difference between Tinder and Facebook is that via Tinder you can send requests to strangers as well while Facebook will allow you to send the request to only those who are part of your friend list.

As Facebook is experimenting with this feature so it was available on targeted individual’s profile. Facebook said “People often use Facebook to make plans with their friends. So, we’re running a very small test in the Facebook app to make that easier. We look forward to hearing people’s feedback.”

In this feature Facebook Messenger will randomly show some friends when you will click on them, a question will pop up: ‘Want to meet up with [the name of your friend here] this week?’ The user can ignore it or send ‘connect request’ where options ‘Yes’, ‘No Thanks’ will be available. If you say ‘Yes’ a notification will be sent to the sender and the two of you will be paired via Facebook Messenger.

By introducing this feature it appears that Facebook is targeting those individuals who are shy and reserve. Those who are not able to say things or connect with their friends, Facebook is providing them with an opportunity to stay connected.
