Facebook launches a Shop Tab in its App

A shop product tab was introduced by Instagram earlier in 2020. This tab allows users to sell products directly from the social media platform. In order to double its e-commerce business, Facebook is also launching a shop product tab like Instagram’s inside Facebook.

ProPakistani reported that this is being done as a test. With this tab, users can shop, chat with the seller through messenger, and pay through a secure payment method. All these services will be available within the Facebook app.

Also, all the shops have been revamped by the company. All the suitable sellers globally will have access to the new customization options, understandings of measure results, and a platform for contacting customers. Sellers can contact their customers via Messenger, Instagram Direct, and WhatsApp.

Live shopping events can be hosted by shops in which they can live stream and display the products that customers can purchase directly via Facebook or Instagram stream.

Instagram checkout is an important feature of this new update. It permits different brands to complete their transactions via the app itself. Due to the pandemic, the transaction fees for both purchasers and suppliers will be ignored by the end of the year.

In the U.S, Facebook Shops are being tested. Soon the feature would be globally available as well. Facebook working on e-commerce business is proof that the social media platform is dedicated to making shopping a business venture via its platform.
