After the market launch of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 took place in the course of the Computex 2025, AMD has now used the fair in Taiwan’s capital Taipei to present the Radeon RX 9060 XT. With eight or 16 GB memory, the new graphics card should enable a good gaming experience with 1080p resolution.
The AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT is the direct answer to the Nvidia RTX 5060 and RTX 5060 Ti, with which AMD wants to compete in the form of variants with eight or 16 gigabytes of graphics. With official retail price of $ 299 and $ 349, the RX 9060 XT should offer a useful option for users who want good quality with 1080p resolution or at least basic skills in 1440p gaming.
AMD wants to make the new Radeon RX 9060 XT available via its usual partners from June 5, 2025, although it is not yet quite clear which board partner should then be part of the market launch. So far, AMD has only published pictures of an in-house reference design, whereby it is left to the partners to launch this design proposal in finished products.
The CPU and graphics specialist indicates that the RX 9060 XT comes with 32 RDNA 4 compute units and has 2048 stream processors. The boost frequency is 3130 megahertz. Unfortunately, AMD has not yet given official information on the range of memory connection and the transmission rates. According to the manufacturer, the new, cheaper AMD GPUs with 150 watts or 160 watts (information each applies to the 8 or 16 GB version), but need a total board power (TBP) of up to 182 watts if the load is full.
The fact that AMD calls an entire area for the power consumption is somewhat unusual and may be because RX 9060 XT also needs a little more energy to keep up with your NVIDIA competitors. In most cases, the Board partner editions of the RX 9060 XT should still be operated with just a single 8-pin connection. Surprisingly, AMD did not publish any comparison graphics for performance. After all, it was promised that the RDNA-4 cores should offer considerably more performance than their predecessors, especially when playing with ray tracing.
