FIFA 23 Turns Players into Marvel Superheroes for The Ultimate Team

Electronic Arts EA Games have revealed that the upcoming football game FIFA 23 will team up this year with an unusual partner: Marvel Entertainment. The game will bring back some of the best soccer players in the world as “heroes” that players can then use.

EA Just Revealed That FIFA 23 Fans Will Get special FUT items thanks to a new collaboration with Marvel. These two companies are teaming up for FIFA 23’s FUT Heroes event, bringing iconic players such as Yaya Toure and Park Ji-Sung to receive illustrated FUT items.

FUT Heroes will be part of the game from launch, but this partnership will see the light of day in time for the FIFA World Cup to be held in Qatar next December. to commemorate the players’ memorable careers. Each FIFA World Cup FUT Hero will then receive a special illustrated FUT item that players can try to collect.

Iconic players become Marvel heroes in FIFA 23

EA has already revealed five of the special FUT Hero cards, including the one from American Landon Donovan, Ivorian Yaya Touré, Portuguese Ricardo Carvalho, South Korean Park Ji-sung, and Italian Claudio Marchisio. Four others should also arrive soon: Javier Mascherano, Rafael Marquez, Lucio, and Diego Forlan. Each player was depicted wearing a costume of a hero from the Marvel universe.

In addition to FUT cards, the collaboration also includes other items, including tifos, kits, balls, and other cosmetics. The collaboration is of course accompanied by a Marvel Heroes comic book with biographies written by Marvel for every player which will have a limited physical edition.

Crossovers have become the new metaphor for success in the video game industry, and we think these FUT cards will be a hit. Just look at Fortnite and the recent update that adds the Dragon Ball Z universe. Reminder: FIFA 23 launches on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on September 30th, with early access for the Ultimate Edition on September 27.
