Fifteen Samsung devices [smartphones and tablets] receive Google’s ARCore certification

The tech company Google has introduced the feature of Google AR across its various apps and services. Basically, Google uses the AR feature to offer a better user experience. For instance, the company uses the AR feature with its Lens app. Here, the AR feature provides image translation and some other advanced options. Furthermore, the Google AR feature in Maps apps helps users with finding directions.

In order to introduce the AR feature to third-party apps, the company certifies devices i.e., smartphones and tablets. These devices are then provided with Google’s ARCore software development kit [SDK]. It now seems like the inactivity period is over. Since the company has added fifteen Galaxy devices to the ARCore portfolio.

A smartphone device is capable of receiving the ARCore certification if it meets the standard criteria. The set of requirements revolves around the following: CPU capabilities, sensor accuracy, camera operations, and more. Last year, in July the company updated the ARCore list. As per the information, the following smartphones by Samsung have received the ARCore certification:

• Galaxy A13 5G, Galaxy A22, Galaxy A52s 5G, Galaxy A73 5G
• Galaxy F42 5G/ Wide5
• Galaxy M22, Galaxy M52 5G, Galaxy M53 5G
• Galaxy S21 FE 5G
• Galaxy Tab S7 FE, Galaxy Tab S7 FE 5G
• Galaxy Z Fold 3 5G, Galaxy Z Flip 3 5G
• Galaxy XCover 6 Pro
• Galaxy Quantum 3

Interestingly, the recent high-end smartphone i.e., Galaxy S23 is not included in this list. However, if we go for the specs details then it is not that the S23 series doesn’t meet the set requirements for ARCore certification. However, the reasons are unclear at the moment. Where we can expect that the current flagship smartphone series soon receive the certification.
