The action RPG Final Fantasy 16 has received a new trailer. This not only gives further insights into the story but also shows new gameplay material. Also, we now know when the RPG will go on sale.
This time, the 16th part of the legendary role-playing series takes players into the dark fantasy world of Valisthea. The once radiant kingdom is threatened by the spread of the blight, the last hope is the fighters called Domini, who can control huge beasts or: Espers. Players experience the story from the warrior Clive Rosfield’s perspective, but with the support of AI-controlled teammates.
Final Fantasy 16 does not rely on the typical turn-based battles of the series, but on an action-packed combat system in which players can even control the mighty Espers. A focused mode should help players with this and make the gameplay easier overall – if that’s what you want, of course.
Final Fantasy 16 will be released exclusively for the PlayStation 5 on June 22, 2023, for an initial period of six months. Implementations for other platforms can then follow, but details on this have not yet been shared.
