For OLED Apple iPad Pros, Samsung will be the only supplier of display drivers

Six new iPad models are being developed by Apple. The 12.9-inch and 11-inch iPad Pros are two of them. According to reports, the tech giant sells tablets with OLED screens on each of them. Samsung Display and LG Display are the two suppliers of OLED panels for those models. We now know a little bit more about the subject.

Samsung’s System LSI will be the exclusive provider of display driver integrated circuits (DDI) for the next 12.9- and 11-inch iPad Pro models, according to a recent report from Korea’s ET News. According to the report, Apple will employ Samsung’s DDIs even for models that have LG Display OLED display panels installed.

Apple typically sources a product’s components from several manufacturers in order to control unit prices and ensure a consistent supply. But in this instance, the company is breaking with the policy since, according to reports, Samsung’s DDIs are superior to those of other businesses. That’s what the report allowed us to grasp, at least.

In the coming weeks, Apple is anticipated to unveil the lineup of iPad Pro models for the upcoming generation. In addition to OLED screens, it is anticipated to have a revised layout, the M3 chipset, a better camera configuration, and wireless charging via MagSafe. A revamped Magic Keyboard for the two tablets is anticipated to be released by the firm as well.
