Samsung finally launches the Samsung OLED G8 gaming monitor

In August 2022, the tech company Samsung introduced the first OLED gaming monitor. It was expected that the company will officially launch the Odyssey OLED G8 in Q4 of 2022. But unfortunately, things didn’t work as expected. Besides this, the tech firm displayed the product during CES 2023. But still, no information regarding price and availability was shared by the company. Just recently, the company confirmed that the monitor is now available for purchase.

Moving towards the specs of Odyssey OLED G8. It is a 34-inch curved display. It has a 1800R curvature. It is further provided with an excellent 175Hz refresh rate. Furthermore, the Odyssey OLED G8 has a 0.1ms response time. The monitor is based on Quantum Dot Tech. It can cover 99.3% of the DCI color gamut. The monitor has a 3,440 x 1,440 pixels resolution. It is supplied by AMD FreeSync Premium for extraordinary gaming performance.

In contrast to an average gaming monitor, the Odyssey OLED G8 is an amazing product. It is provided with an adjustable stand. Moreover, it has rear-core lighting that can be synced with the in-game environment. In addition to this, the monitor has integrated 5W stereo speakers, USB-C, Micro HDMI, and Mini DP ports.

Besides these specs, the monitor has the capacity to perform dual functions i.e., it can work as a TV. It is because the monitor is supplied with Samsung’s Tizen-powered Smart TV platform. It provides users with access to various streaming apps like Hulu, Netflix, and Samsung TV Plus. The monitor is packaged with a remote control. Last but not the least, the monitor is provided with Samsung Gaming Hub. It permits users to stream games from services like Xbox Game Pass and NVIDIA GeForce Now.
