For servers, Samsung plans to provide a “SSD Subscription” model

You may have heard of streaming services for TV shows and music, but what about high-speed SSD servers?

Samsung is reportedly planning to make that announcement at NVIDIA’s GTC 2024 conference in San Jose, California, tomorrow. According to reports, Samsung will unveil a number of new memory solutions for AI and machine learning applications during the event, including a new storage subscription and its recently created 12-layer High Bandwidth Memory 3E.

The SSD subscription service lowers the cost of accessing cutting-edge memory options

With the introduction of PBSSD, a petabyte-level SSD solution, Samsung hopes to further solidify its hold on the enterprise SSD industry. Alongside it, a brand-new subscription service that will be made available to US consumers in Q2 2024 will offer ultra-high-capacity data options at a significantly lower price.

Instead of needing to buy these pricey storage devices outright, commercial users will be able to access Samsung’s petabyte SSD solutions by paying a subscription charge thanks to this service. Because they won’t need to construct more infrastructure, customers will be able to expand quickly. In addition, Samsung would provide them with extra services like security, storage management, and upgrades.

Samsung will be showcasing at GTC 2024 how AI and ML firms can enhance data analysis, streamline data administration, and more affordably extend storage to suit their requirements with its high-capacity SSD subscription service.

Because of NVIDIA’s standing in the AI domain, GTC has grown in importance as an industry gathering place for businesses and experts in the AI and ML fields. It makes sense for Samsung, a top memory provider, to showcase the capabilities of its high-performance memory products even more.
