Standard text messaging now has more capability thanks to Rich Communications Services (RCS), which includes read receipts and encryption. Although Samsung and Google have collaborated to make RCS more widely available, it currently seems that some Galaxy phone owners are experiencing problems with RCS.
Although it’s unclear at this point if this is a device-specific problem or a general RCS fault that can be readily resolved with a server-side upgrade, there have been enough reports to warrant further investigation.
When using Samsung’s messaging app, users report that they are unable to send RCS messages to numerous recipients. However, when they use Google’s messaging app, everything seems to function well.
Others shared their views, pointing out that Samsung handsets are used by individuals whose chats they frequently see alternating between RCS and traditional SMS. Since neither Google nor Samsung have provided any advice on the subject, it is unknown what might be causing this.
Certain users have provided solutions and advice that have made sense to them. One required emptying the app and forcing it to quit. But occasionally, after a while, the problem tends to resurface, forcing customers to repeat the full procedure.
Comparing it to other options like WhatsApp, it’s evidently far from perfect, especially for individuals who use these messaging programs primarily. Hopefully, the issue that’s giving users this small annoyance will be resolved shortly.
