For the Pixel 9, Google may be developing an AI assistant

Currently, Pixel 8 users are enjoying the AI capabilities on their smartphones due to Gemini. According to some recent pieces of information, the tech giant Google is considering something else for the upcoming Pixel 9 series. Reportedly, the next flagship series by Google will come with Pixie, an exclusive AI assistant.

Google Assistant, one of the best voice assistants, has been used by several Android smartphones across the globe. In October, the company unveiled the Assistant With Bard (AWB), which is set to improve with time. It is clear that the assistant will be powered up with bard chatbot. Currently, there is only limited information available about it.

Google Pixel 9 will come with Pixie assistant

Well, this is just the very beginning since the Pixel 9 series will be official next year so the above-mentioned information must be taken with caution since things have a chance to change with time. According to sources, the AI assistant will only be available on Pixel devices. It appears that it will be something different from AWB.

The reports suggest that it will be named Pixie. It might be deeply integrated with Google apps like Gmail, Google Maps, and others. Regarding availability, we’re not sure which Pixel smartphones will support Pixie. It’s not clear if Google will release it to the more recent Pixel devices on the market or limit it to the Pixel 9 phones.

In addition to this, the report claims that the company might introduce AI glasses compatible with Pixie. There are no further details about the AI glasses. It appears that the business is just using the term “internal discussion” to describe them. Therefore, no firm plans may exist to build these glasses. The AI glasses might feature a camera to scan the environment and, based on the view, give users some real-time feedback. It might be Google Lens on steroids (and on your face.)

We’ll have to wait for further information to find out what will happen, as this is only preliminary information.
