Galaxy A series In a Review

Samsung recently introduced its new entry-level medium-class smartphones of the A series, consisting of the Galaxy A56, A36 and A26. These devices offer a mixture of solid hardware and a good price-performance ratio. Our colleague John Knapp from Newgadgets, the models took a closer look.

Design and display

All three new models of the A series have a 6.7-inch super-amoled display with a FullHD+resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hertz. The Galaxy A56 stands out with a maximum brightness of 1200 nits, which makes reading easier in direct sunlight. While the A56 has a metal frame, the other two models are made of plastic, which is noticeable in the feel.

Technical specifications

The technical equipment of the three models varies, with the Galaxy A26 having the simplest configuration. It uses the Exynos 1380 processor, while the A36 is equipped with the more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3. The top model, the A56, works with the Exynos 1580. The other core components include:

• Galaxy A26: 6 or 8 GB RAM, 128 or 256 GB of memory, expandable via microSD, 5000 mAh battery with 25 watts of fast charging.
• Galaxy A36: Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, 50 MP main camera with optical image stabilization, 5000 mAh battery with 45 watts of fast charging.
• Galaxy A56: Exynos 1580, 50 MP main camera, 12-MP ultraWeitwinkel, 5000 mAh battery.

The cameras of the A series offer a solid performance for the price. The A26 has a 50 MP wide-angle camera, while the A36 and A56 also offer additional ultra-wake angle and macrof functions. The front camera of the A56 has a resolution of 12 MP, which is sufficient for selfies and video calls.

Software and updates

Samsung offers the guarantee of six years of Android and security updates for all models. This is a rare and positive aspect in the middle class area that increases the longevity of the devices. Overall, the Samsung Galaxy A series 2025 offers a solid selection of smartphones for the mid-range area.

Each model has its strengths and weaknesses, whereby the Galaxy A56 stands out as a favorite. It offers a good balance between price and performance, while the A36 and A26 can be a sensible choice for users with lower needs.
