Galaxy S21 Ultra Battery Life Tests Looks Great

Battery life has been a big concern on the latest Samsung Galaxy S models. Could the S21 model be a game-changer with its new processor, which we are promised less power-hungry?

The first tests are encouraging on this point. Galaxy s21 The S21 Ultra The Samsung Galaxy S20s, like the S10s before them, had a very annoying Achilles heel: battery life. Even the S20 Ultra, the most upscale model, struggled to last a day with the refresh rate set at 120 Hz. It seems that this problem is corrected with the S21, according to the first feedback.

SamMobile has indeed found that their Galaxy S21 Ultra (test model with Exynos 2100) gave more positive results in terms of autonomy. Thus, the site indicates that after 12 hours of use in navigation, photo, video, with an activated screen (at 120 Hz) for 4 hours and 27 minutes, the smartphone showed 24% battery. Results that match our first impressions after just one day of testing. So it looks like the new Exynos 2100 processor is a bit better in this segment, which was Samsung’s initial promise.

AN EXYNOS 2100 THAT BETS ON THE ECONOMY

As a reminder, the Galaxy S21 Ultra has a 5000 mAh battery. The Exynos 2100 processor, present on European models (the US version is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor), is engraved in 5 nm and is also intended to be less energy-intensive than the Exynos 990, which is very energy-intensive. It was difficult to last a whole day with his S20 Ultra, using it a little intensively.

These results are encouraging and this aspect will have to be explored with more in-depth tests. The models below, namely the S21 and S21+, will also be carefully scrutinized on this point. Both smartphones have a battery of 4000 and 4500mAh respectively and the same processor. However, their screens are smaller (6.2 inches and 6.7 inches) and are only Full HD +, and not 1440p like the Ultra. They still have a refresh rate of 120Hz. Our full review of the Galaxy S21 Ultra will be arriving in our columns very soon.
