Samsung’s new Galaxy S range should see the light of day at the beginning of next year. Now the model numbers for the new devices have appeared. As usual, there should be three different smartphones. In addition to a plus version, an ultra model is also expected.
While the normal Samsung Galaxy S22 should be called “SM-S901x”, the plus model should be called “SM-S906x”. The Ultra version seems to be assigned the model number “SM-S908x”. Samsung had started with the Galaxy S5 to assign model numbers of the form “SM-G9xx” to its flagship devices. After the Galaxy S21 models were called “SM-G991x”, “SM-G996x” and “SM-G998x”, the South Korean company changed the names slightly and replaced the “G” with an “S”.
Little information about the Galaxy S22 is known at the moment. According to a leak from last month, the display is 6.06 or 6.1 inches. The screen of the S22+ should have a diagonal of 6.55 or 6.66 inches. The ultra variant should have a 6.8-inch display. While the normal model and the plus version probably have a plastic back, the S22 Ultra could be delivered with higher quality glass. The AMD-based Exynos chipset could be built into the devices.
The model numbers leave, according to Sammobile Conclude that all Galaxy S22 series devices have a built-in 5G modem. However, further specifications are not yet known at the moment. The new flagship generation is expected to be officially unveiled in spring 2022. First, the manufacturer would like to present its next foldable. A corresponding unpacked event will take place on August 11th.
