Galaxy S24 might feature a new 200MP camera sensor

It was known from the beginning that Samsung would stick to the 200MP camera sensor for the high-end model of the Galaxy S24 series. Some reports suggested that the company might utilize the same camera sensor in the upcoming Galaxy S24 Ultra as the Galaxy S23 Ultra. However, this is not the case here. The tipster Ice Universe claims that the Galaxy S24 Ultra will feature the 200MP ISOCELL HP2SX camera sensor.

Reportedly, this sensor is an improved version of the ISOCELL HP2 camera sensor utilized in the Galaxy S23 Ultra. Some of its unique features include an individual pixel size of 0.7µm, 8K 30fps video recording, 16-in-1 (12MP) and 4-in-1 (50MP) pixel binning modes, an optical format of 1/1.3-inch, and Super Quad Phase Detection autofocus.

Previously, it was reported that the Galaxy S24 Ultra accompanies an improved telephoto camera. It features a 50MP sensor and 0.7µm pixels. A 3x optical zoom lens and OIS will accompany it, which will certainly improve the overall performance. According to reports, it will purportedly include a 5x optical zoom lens thanks to an increased sensor size and in-sensor cropping. According to reports, the phone will have the same Galaxy S23 Ultra’s 12MP selfie camera, 12MP ultrawide camera, and 10MP telephoto camera (10x zoom).

Some rumored specs of Galaxy S24 Ultra

According to rumors, the Galaxy S24 Ultra will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. It will come with 12GB/16GB RAM, and 256GB/512GB/1TB/2TB storage options. Furthermore, it will feature an in-display fingerprint reader, stereo speakers, an IP68 rating, and a titanium frame. It will include a 5,000mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging, 15W fast wireless charging, and 4.5W reverse wireless charging. It will come with Android 14 out of the box.
