Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Fold 5 get Android 14 (One UI 6.0) updates in the United States

Samsung updated the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 to Android 14 last week in the United States. Nevertheless, the update was only available for the foldable smartphone models that were carrier-locked. Now, the factory-unlocked Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 models can get the stable Android 14 upgrade from the firm.

Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Z Fold 5 devices receive the Android 14 update

Firmware version F731U1UEU1BWK9 is associated with the Android 14 upgrade for the unlocked Galaxy Z Flip 5, while F946U1UEU1BWK9 is associated with the Galaxy Z Fold 5 update. All carrier networks in the US now offer these updates. You can go to Settings » Software Update and select Download and Install to see if there is a new update. Alternatively, you can manually flash the updated firmware file by downloading it from our database.

Since this is a significant software update, you should download it over a Wi-Fi network and back up all of your important files. For those who purchased the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5, which came pre-installed with One UI 5.1.1 based on Android 13, this is the first significant software upgrade. In the future, they will receive three more significant Android OS updates.

What has One UI 6.0 added?

Based on Android 14, One UI 6.0 adds several new functions and enhances the look. It adds a new media player widget with waveform animation, a new font, all new emojis, a new Quick Panel layout, and new font and positioning options for the lock screen clock widget.

Every one of the stock apps has been enhanced. The built-in image and video editors now have more visible controls, and the camera app has a simpler look overall. The integrated video editor is now called Video Studio and supports draft saving. With the Samsung Keyboard app, objects from pictures and movies may be cut and stored as stickers.
