Galaxy Z TriFold: Samsung’s giant folding smartphone is history

According to the manufacturer, Samsung’s first “TriFold” smartphone is now finally sold out after a brief renewed availability. On its website, the company explains that the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold is only a “limited edition.”

Four months after availability it ends

After several years of development, Samsung only presented the Galaxy Z TriFold in December 2025. It wasn’t until some time later that the device was actually brought onto the market, but sales were limited to South Korea and the USA. Just a few months after its launch, the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold is no longer available. On its US website, Samsung states in the TriFold section that the “limited edition Galaxy Z TriFold is now completely sold out.” Until now, the company had always claimed that it did not want to offer large quantities of the folding smartphone with two hinges, but had not spoken of a limited edition.

Most recently, a certain number of devices were made available for the US market, after there had been talk a few weeks earlier that the extremely expensive foldable was out of stock. Now Samsung seems to have finally stopped sales, although it is unclear how many Galaxy Z TriFolds were actually sold. The Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold was available in the US for $2,899 (approximately €2,670).

Due to the small number of units, the device was quickly sold out despite the enormous cost. Meanwhile, exorbitant prices are being charged for the supposedly exclusive product on eBay and other resale platforms. The TriFold has an almost 10-inch foldable main display that is divided into three segments by two vertical hinges. On the outside there is the same additional display as on the Galaxy Z Fold7. Under the hood is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite from last year, while the camera system is also taken from the Fold7.
