GeForce Now now supports 1440p and 120 FPS gaming on Chrome and Edge

Nvidia is updating its GeForce Now game streaming service to support 1440p at 120 fps on a Chrome or Edge browser, a feature gamers have been asking for months.

Nvidia today released a major update to its GeForce Now streaming service for cloud gaming. Indeed, the company has High-quality streaming in 1440p (QHD) definition at 120 fps in two browsers, Google Chrome and Edge. On Windows and Mac, you can also download the dedicated GeForce Now application to take advantage of these features.

For now, this new performance parameter is available exclusively through the subscription with an RTX 3080 from GeForce Now, for 19.99 euros per month. Members who opt for the more expensive plan also get support for ray tracing and a battery life of up to eight hours. The priority level, more affordable, for 9.99 euros per month, will continue to offer a maximum of 1080p and 60 frames per second for now.

How do you get better image quality on GeForce Now?

To activate 1440p at 120 FPS, you obviously need a screen that is compatible with these two parameters. Then open the Settings menu in the left pane. Then find the Streaming Quality section. Check the Customize box to open options to choose your resolution and frame rate. You also need a good connection, as you can expect to use up to 19 GB per hour with these settings. Nvidia has therefore taken the lead over its competitors with these new options. Stadia for his part only allows players then enjoy their favorite games at 60 fps in 4K, 1440p, or 1080p.

Nvidia is launching this updated web version this week alongside six new games on GeForce Now. Thymesia, Century: Age of Ashes, Clanfolk, Coromon, Hypercharge: Unboxed, and Phoenix Point are now among the more than 1,300 titles available on GeForce Now. As a reminder, GeForce Now is currently available on PC, Mac, iOS, Android, NVIDIA SHIELD, and some Smart TV devices.
