Today, Google announced the general availability of the Gemini 2.0 Flash model for developers. Google also unveiled a cost-efficient variant called Gemini 2.0 Flash-Lite. This version maintains the 1-million token context window but is designed for budget-conscious use. Now available in public preview, Flash-Lite is priced at $0.075 per million tokens for text/image/video inputs and $0.30 for outputs, making it the most affordable choice yet.

On top of that, Google announced an experimental update to the Gemini 2.0 Pro model. This advanced version excels in coding and handling complex prompts, offering a huge 2-million token window and support for tools like Google Search and code execution. It’s perfect for developers tackling intricate tasks.

For everyday users, Google shared some exciting news: Gemini app users can now try the new Gemini 2.0 Flash Thinking Experimental model. This version builds on the speed and efficiency of Gemini 2.0 Flash but adds enhanced reasoning capabilities. Like DeepSeek R1, it allows users to see the model’s thought process in real time, offering transparency by showing how it arrives at its conclusions.

Advanced Gemini subscribers also have access to the experimental Gemini 2.0 Pro version, which brings even better coding performance and the ability to handle highly complex tasks. Both the Flash Thinking Experimental and 2.0 Pro Experimental models are rolling out now to Gemini web and mobile app users. Google Workspace Business and Enterprise customers can expect access in the near future.
