Recently, Google has initiated a global fund of around $3million in order to fight misinformation about the coronavirus vaccines.
According to the details, the initiative belonging to Alphabet’s Google said in a blog post that the Covid-19 Vaccine Counter Misinformation Open Fund wishes to support journalistic efforts to effectively fact-check misinformation about the coronavirus immunization process.

It further added that while the coronavirus infodemic has been global in nature, distortion has also been used to target specific populations.
Some of the available research also suggests that the audiences coming across misinformation and those looking for fact checks don’t essentially overlay.
On the other hand, the fund will also receive projects looking to enlarge the audience of fact-checks, mainly to groups excessively hit by misinformation.
Moreover, applications will be studied by a team of 14 jurors from across the academic, media, medical, and non-profit sectors, as well as representatives from the World Health Organization (WHO).
Earlier in December, the Google News Initiative assured $1.5 million to fund a coronavirus vaccine media center to support fact-checking research.
