Last month Google rolled out the Material You makeover across various platforms. Regarding the Contacts App, Google introduced two new tabs with the Material You redesign. These tabs were: The contacts and Fix & Manage tabs. They were presented at the bottom bar on the Contacts app by Google. As of now, Google is ready to introduce another feature to its Contacts app i.e., the new ‘Highlight’ tab.
In this short piece, we will give you a brief overview of how these tabs are presented in the Contacts app and how you can use them. In the Contacts app, below the Search bar, the Favorite grid is present. The Favorite grid houses four icons. These icons hold the contact details of the four favorite contacts of the user. Furthermore, new contacts can be replaced with the previous ones by using the ‘Add’ button located in the top-right corner.
In the latest update, the Google Contacts Highlight tab is introduced. The Google Contacts Highlight tab is located at the bottom bar between the ‘Contacts’ and ‘Fix & Manage’ tabs. This tab is quite useful as it enables the users to locate contact by a grid. The overall experience is easy, appealing to the eyes, and user-friendly.
Besides these new features, there is a Recent section. The Recent section is placed just below the Favorite grid. In the Recent section, a two-tabbed list is resent. This two-tabbed list consists of View Recently and Added Recently sections. Under the section View Recently, the users are presented with the contacts that have been recently contacted. Each contact is presented with a date and other details. Users can delete the history by accessing the Overflow menu. On the other hand, the Added Recently section provides users with quick access to contacts that were added recently.
With the latest updates, all these features will be rolled out. All such changes will present the users with a more convenient experience. Well, one thing to notice here is that the Fix and Manage tab is way too useful since it provides access to some useful tools. But it is uncertain whether this tab is presented separately at the bottom or not.
