Google launched a latest update for Google Pixel Watch

After a recent firmware upgrade, the original Google Pixel Watch is reportedly charging more slowly. It used to mention on the Google Store page that a charge may reach 50% in 30 minutes. The upcoming Pixel Watch 2 can also charge at that rate. The original Pixel Watch, however, can now be charged to 50% in 45 minutes. Now, getting to 80% and 100% will take 75 and 110 minutes, respectively. For a full charge, that is an increase of 30 minutes.

As per information by 9to5Google, Google stated, Pixel Watch software update “required us to review the charging times; the new times are what the average user will experience.” However, Google did not say when or why this upgrade was required.

We Android users frequently make fun of Apple and its users for installing an update that causes their phone’s charging speed to slow down. However, Google is currently acting in the same manner. Now, this might be as simple as Google slowing down charging because the Pixel Watch was becoming too hot and they wanted to better manage thermals. We’ll probably never know, though.

Charge times for the Pixel Watch 2 remain unaffected

The fact that the charging speeds for the Pixel Watch 2 have remained unchanged may be the most significant factor in this case. So, you can still complete the 30-minute journey from 0 to 50%. It will take 43 minutes to reach 80% and 75 minutes to fully charge from 0% to 100%.

The Wi-Fi and Bluetooth edition of the Pixel Watch 2 is currently available at Best Buy for $349. The LTE model will set you back an additional $50. Additionally, since LTE is a feature of the Unlimited Plus plan, it would be worthwhile to switch to it if you have Google Fi. In other words, you would just pay $50 in advance for LTE.
