Google Maps to add a highly-requested feature for EV Drivers

We all prefer Google Maps for any kind of guidance for our ways. Google Maps keeps enhancing the platform with the latest features. The latest one we got was an EV driver. When you open the app, it displays various options like restaurants, coffee shops, gas stations, and many other things. Now with this latest feature, by setting the EV option, it’ll display chargers instead of Gas stations.

Gas stations aren’t useful for EVs, so they will be able to see charge stations along the way they’re heading. Depending on how extensive the trip is, EV drivers frequently schedule their routes around stops for charging. It is therefore an excellent choice to implement this feature. For EV drivers, Google still has a lot of work to do.

Now, it looks like Google Maps for Android Auto is the only app that offers this capability. However, it is quite likely to soon be available on the standard Google Maps app for Android and iOS.

Google maps needs to work better on Android Automotive EVs

On Android Automotive, which is found in vehicles like the Polestar 2, Volvo XC40 Recharge, and even the Hummer EV, Google Maps performs well. Android Automotive can inform you how much charge you’ll have left when you arrive at your destination because it is more integrated into the car. Or inform you of the length of time and when you should stop charging.

Also included with Tesla are these features. It would also be fantastic to see Google Maps provide this function on EVs without Android Automotive. However, many EVs are switching to the Android Automotive OS, including those made by GM, which uses it in the Silverado, Equinox, and Blazer EVs, the Hummer EV, and the Cadillac Lyriq. Additionally, they will no longer support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in the future.
