Google Pays Tribute To Pakistan’s Pride Madam Noor Jehan

On the 91st birthday of late Madam Noor Jehan, Google pays her a tribute. Google dedicated a doodle which represents a caricature of Madam wearing a purple suit with a flower perched on her hair. The picture quite resembles Madam’s performance on PTV on the song ‘Dildar Sadqay Lakh Waar Sadqay’

Madam Noor Jehan was known for her soulful voice not just in Pakistan but in the whole world specifically in South Asia. Google celebrates her journey by sharing her beautiful career in which she released 10,000 songs and was given the name Malika-e-Tarannum (the Queen of Melody) for her emotional songs released during 1965 war. Her songs boosted the morale of Pakistan army and so she also received Pakistani civilian awards ‘Tamgha-e-Imtiaz’ by armed forces.

Google also shares Madam’s journey of recording one song every day which got on aired immediately. The pride of Pakistan died on 23rd December 2000, but her voice still defines the music of Pakistan and it will continue to do so for generations to come.
