Google Pixel 5 improves by 30-50% with April 2021 update

Google Pixel 5 and the Pixel 4a 5G are starting to receive Google’s software update. The update will feature a host of connectivity, camera, and stability improvements. These optimizations are of significant value for gamers.

The stable Android 11 from Google first resulted in a decline in terms of graphics. The Pixel 4 XL and Pixel 4a were the major hit in graphical performance. For the Pixel 5, it was seen that the device vastly underperformed, featuring the Snapdragon 765G chip.

In the recent update, the Pixel 5 improved by 30-50%, as noted. According to a researcher, the Pixel 5 scored around 2278/2260 for the OpenGL/Vulkan tests in 3DMark Sling Shot Extreme before the April update. However, after the update, the phone scored 3286/3083 on the same test.
