Google Pixel Pro 8 Official Image Is Leaked

After various leaks, Google is now providing a preliminary unveiling of the new Pixel 8 Pro. An official photo of the Android smartphone expected in the fall in the “Porcelain” color variant known from the Pixel Fold was briefly visible in its own store.

Google confirms the design leaks

This year too, Google is not exempt from leaks and is once again making its own mistake. Apparently, accidentally, the company published an image (see above) of the previously unreleased Pixel 8 Pro in its own online shop. The alt text in the website code confirms the device: “A person answers a call on a Pixel 8 Pro phone in porcelain.”

The photo, which has now been removed but was shared via Twitter

While the Pixel 7 Pro was available in anthracite gold (Hazel), white, and black, the Pixel 8 Pro will appear in a subtle shade of blue and the now confirmed “Porcelain” as an alternative to the classic black. We already know the slightly gold tone from the Pixel Fold, but the blue color variant from the Pixel 7a.

Various technology upgrades planned

Technically, the Google Pixel 8 Pro is said to have the new in-house Tensor G3 chip, which is combined with at least 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and internal flash memory with a capacity of 128 GB. In addition, storage variants with 256 GB and 512 GB will be offered, which stands out from the 256 GB maximum of the Pixel 7 Pro.

In addition, there is talk in the rumor mill of a new camera app that is to be introduced in connection with the upcoming Pixel smartphones, their 50-megapixel cameras, and the Android 14 operating system. There is also talk of an extended update guarantee for Android updates, which have so far only been promised for three years. Here Google apparently wants to catch up with Samsung and Apple.

It is currently assumed that the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro will be presented in October 2023. An official statement from Google is still pending.
