Google publishes Android 16 Beta 4.1 with important bug fixes

Google has published Android 16 Beta 4.1-however, it is “only” a bugfix update that fixes problems, including battery problems and haptic feedback. The stable version of Android 16 will be released in a few weeks.

Bugfixes for the final development phase

Google has released the Android 16 Beta 4.1 (Build BP22.250325.012), an update that primarily aims to fix bugs. The update is available for all pixel devices from the 6 series that participate in the beta program. As always, users can download and install the update via the settings> System> System update. The new version has a total of several error fixes that affect different areas of the system. How Android Authority reports, one of the most important corrections are:

  • Removal of a problem with the haptic performance
  • Solution for 4K video recordings with 4x telephoto lens
  • Elimination of the problem with disappearing weather maps
  • Repair of the lock screen shortcuts that were triggered with a single type
  • Removal of a permanent battery drain problem
  • Solution for a black navigation bar with transitions
  • Removal of a Google app crash when loading websites

On the way to the stable version

The fourth Beta of Android 16 was published on April 17, 2025, and the stable version should be available from June 3, 2025. The current beta update is therefore probably one of the last pre-versions before the official release. Google thus follows its usual development cycle, in which a final stabilization phase with bug fixes takes place after several beta versions before the final version is published. With Android 16, Google will also introduce the next evolution of the Android design language: Material 3 expressive. This comprehensive Ui-Aktualization is intended to make Android and Wear OS visually appealing, emotionally more resonant and interactive. With new movement physics, component updates, fresh color schemes and fonts, material 3 is supposed to change the way Android feels and works.

However, these new design improvements will only be available on Pixel devices later in the year. For Wear Os-Watches, too, the design of material 3 is more expressive, with scroll animations that follow the circular display.
