Quite a number of improvements have been introduced by Google across various devices. With the introduction of new technology, Google is continuing with its efforts to bring enhanced support for big-screen devices such as tablets and foldable smartphones. The new updates are introduced to the Google app beta version 13.46. it is provided with a navigation rail on the left side of the homepage. This feature will enable the users to view more content in the search results as well as the Google Discover feed. The users of Samsung Galaxy and other brands’ tablets could benefit from the Google Search app navigation rail. Sadly, the navigation rail is not equipped with the Material You MD3 redesign.

On the Google Search navigation rail following icons are present:

  • Discover
  • Search
  • Collections

As of yet, they don’t use a pill-shaped indicator. When you place the cursor on any given tab, it is highlighted in blue color instead of gray. Instead of placing the icons on top, bottom, or center, the three icons are positioned where the user usually places their thumb.

The major benefit of the new Google Search navigation rail is that it provides the access to primary destinations within range on devices with a large screen such as tablets. On the whole, more tweaks and optimizations are the need of the hour like the Material You icons. As per 9to5Google. The Weather app by Google recently received updates on tweaks.
