Google Unveils Pixel 9 Series On August 13

On August 13th the time has come – that’s when the new, larger Google Pixel 9 series will be released . Yesterday evening Google announced the official date for the launch of its new smartphones, on which various new AI features are also expected to be presented.

The Internet company Google has announced the date for the launch of the Pixel 9 via its numerous official social media channels. A special Pixel event will take place on August 13, 2024 , at which, among other things, the new smartphone hardware will be presented.

No concrete details have been given so far, but the outlines of the new devices are already shown in a teaser clip.

The short video not only mentions the date – specifically in the form of Roman numerals – but Google also clearly indicates that it is the Pixel 9 series, because the number “IX” remains visible for longer. In addition, the very rounded corners of the new top smartphones from Google are already clearly visible. The same applies to the metal frame, which can be easily recognized by the cutouts for the antennas.

Source code reveals Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro – where is the XL?

If you take a quick look at the source code of the recently published announcement page, you will also get clear information about what the event is about. Google mentions the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro, which are ” Made by Google ” and are intended to show how to “bring together the best of Google AI and the Pixel device portfolio”.

What is missing from Google’s teaser is the supposedly planned, slightly larger new Google Pixel 9 Pro XL, which, compared to the “normal” variants, is to be the third new edition to the lineup. Google’s Pixel 9 teaser and announcement did not initially reveal any more details. In addition to the smartphones, we can also expect the new Google Pixel Watch 3. The Pixel 9 also marks the start of the introduction of Android 15.

What is also very striking about Google’s announcement is the early date. While the Pixel launches in recent years have always only taken place in October, the event for 2024 has obviously been brought forward by two months. Google is probably hoping to be able to compete

better with the Apple iPhone 16 and the new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 expected from July 10th.
