Google will not be releasing its Wear OS smartwatch

In spite of longstanding gossipy tidbits proposing that Google was planning to discharge a smartwatch in 2018, you won’t see a Pixel Watch on racks (or wrists) at any point in the near future. The organization’s executive of engineering for Wear OS, Miles Barr, affirmed to Tom’s Guide that Google isn’t intending to dispatch a smartwatch this year. Rather, Google is working with different organizations, for example, Fossil and Casio, who are making their own Wear OS smartwatches, while concentrating on enhancing the product for a long time to come.

Rumormongers had proposed that Google would uncover a Pixel Watch close by the Pixel 3 at its hardware event in October.

On September 10th, Qualcomm is set to report another chip that powers Wear OS gadgets, and it was normal that Google would utilize that processor for its own particular smartwatch. In the meantime, Google has quite recently divulged the most recent adaptation of Wear OS. The individuals who were persuaded these were signs Google was going to report a Pixel Watch might be frustrated.

“To think of a one-size-fits-all watch, I don’t think we’re there yet,” Barr said. “Our focus is on our partners for now.”

He hinted at what a future Pixel Watch could resemble, with an obvious spotlight on Google Assistant, which is at the core of the most recent Wear OS. Until further notice, Google is keeping its spotlight prepared on Wear OS, and is as of now centered around streamlining battery life – an update that draws from Android’s power management highlights will enhance matters on that front ahead of schedule one year from now, Barr noted.
