GTA 6 Is Not Releasing Anytime Soon Launch Expected 2025
The release date of the long-awaited open-world shooter Grand Theft Auto 6 should still be a long way off. Not only should the developer Rockstar Games intentionally take more time for GTA 6, but the scarcity of the next-gen consoles should also play a major role.
Despite the lack of any signs, GTA 6 is one of the most talked-about games in the gaming community and especially its rumor mill. Industry insider Tom Henderson will also be taking part in the discussion about the action title and will publish his findings so far in a new YouTube video. And he has bad news for all waiting fans of the Grand Theft Auto franchise.
GTA 6 release expected in 2024-25
If you trust Henderson’s information, GTA 6 will probably only appear in 2024 or 2025. With this information, he is also revising his previously expressed assessments that the open-world shooter could appear by 2023. The reasons given by YouTubers are that Rockstar Games is not only looking for the well-being of its employees due to the pandemic but also outside of the corona crisis and wants to avoid the accumulation of overtime in the development phase (crunch).
On the other hand, Grand Theft Auto 5, which is already more than seven years old but continues to flourish thanks to GTA Online, is currently said to throw so much money that you simply don’t have to take a quick shot, but can invest enough time until the game is ready for the market.
And for the market launch to be successful, it should not only take more time but also a nationwide supply of next-gen consoles such as the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 (PS5). According to Henderson, the game will appear on these alongside a PC version. But the consoles are currently anything but easy to get and thus the release would be comparatively slow. Since Rockstar Games has not yet officially commented on the existence of GTA 6, all “inside information” must be viewed as a rumor or a grain of salt.
