GTA 6: The release date is not even closer

Take-Two itself is fueling rumors of a possible Grand Theft Auto 6 release date. For the fiscal year 2024, the Rockstar Games parent company is forecasting a significant increase in sales, which analysts explain with the release of GTA 6. In the course of the planned acquisition of Farmville developer Zynga for 12.7 billion US dollars, Take-Two Interactive published an outlook on the company’s financial future. This assumes annual growth of 14 percent for companies between the fiscal years 2021 and 2024. Analysts at investment bank Jefferies (via axios) indicated that only a handful of stocks would qualify to give the company the confidence to make such a strong forecast.

GTA 6 could be released between April 2023 and March 2024

The experts assume that the Take-Two subsidiary Rockstar Games should contribute at least one major title to this success in the 2024 fiscal year. The rumor mill about GTA 6 is thus fueled again. Cowen analyst Doug Creutz talks about “game-related transactions” worth about $9 billion, which he says also points to a release date for Grand Theft Auto 6 between April 2023 and March 2024. It would not be the company’s first financial forecast to indicate a release date. Already the prediction of an increase in sales for the fiscal year 2012 pointed to the release of GTA 5.

In the course of the launch delays until September 2013, Take-Two adjusted its forecast. At the end of the day, however, the GTA 6 prospects should continue to be viewed with some skepticism, as the development of the long-awaited action shooter could be delayed regardless of Take Two predictions. The rumors about the possible gameplay setting or the console and PC porting of Grand Theft Auto 6 remain completely unexplained. Similar to its predecessor, GTA 6 could first appear for the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 (PS5) and later for Windows PCs .
