Haier is a popular brand in electronics, the Chinese consumer Electronics Company has a lot to offer in consumer electronics in the global market. But this time the company came up with a gimmick in smartwatch category.
Haier unveiled its smartwatch which has a built-in projector, the smartwatch can turn wearers hand into a display. The display also turns interactive touchscreen, users can touch; tap the hand to navigate through the features.
However, the current prototype only offers a handful of features and few clunky options, the smartwatch let users create a temporary light-based tattoo that displays on the back of their hands.
The company said that it intends to launch the product for sale later this year in China and probably around the world. Haier is focusing on consumers likes by launching this product, it would measure the consumer insights about the product whether they liked the idea and it’s worth developing further in the future.
Wearables and Smartwatch market is quite slow, the companies who are already in the market say the market growth is stagnant and there are a handful of companies in the market. Apple is the top seller in the wearable market followed by Xiaomi. Many companies including Adidas has already decided to close their wearable business unit, this indicates the market trends in this category, whether Haier can create a difference in the market is still dubious as popular innovative companies are still struggling.
